Google Recommends Smartphone Web Design |
|
On Thursday, Google announced their recommendations for building smartphone-optimized websites, and we're very excited that their recommendation lines up perfectly with how our new Adaptive Websites work. Specifically, they say: "Sites that use responsive web design, i.e. sites that serve all devices on the same set of URLs, with each URL serving the same HTML to all devices and using just CSS to change how the page is rendered on the device. This is Google's recommended configuration." This is precisely the approach we've taken. Aligning our strategy with Google means that our Adaptive Websites will be easy for Google's bots to search and should lead to great search rankings on desktop and mobile. We're very happy that Google has joined us in sounding the death knell for separate, disconnected mobile websites, and look forward to helping them lead this charge! Stay tuned for more information from Dominion Dealer Solutions on this topic tomorrow. http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2012/06/recommendations-for-building-smartphone.html |
