The Launch of Unfair Advantage: George Nenni |
![]() By: George Nenni As the incredible energy from last week's launch of Unfair Advantage is now behind us, it is impressive to reflect back on the original vision for the book and how it came to be. Brian Pasch first proposed the idea to me earlier this year, and quickly enlisted Tracy Myers to help. Tracy had considerable experience and success with book launches, and the two of them began to recruit potential writers. I was flattered that at a very early point, they reached out to Glen Garvin and me to author chapters. We now have several years experience working with Brian on Dominion Roadshows, presenting at his Bootcamps, and he felt comfortable with our style. As I sat down to begin the process, I remembered my high school English classes and the value of writing a detailed outline. To be honest, I wrote the majority of my high school and college papers without the use of outlines (sh-h-h-h don't tell my kids!), but as I began to develop the outline, it was very natural. When I was finished, writing the chapter was extremely easy, just followed the outline. I now find myself using outlines for upcoming presentations, or business plans, as it truly helps you organize your thoughts and provide solid discussion flow. I must say, I wrote about 3-times the amount allowable in my chapter. With Peyton Hoffman's great editing skills, I was able to condense it into the work that finally made it onto the printed page. We went through many, many revisions and versions, but I am proud of the final product. The launch of the book was a glimpse into the marketing magic that Brian and Tracy are known for. Every step in preparation and pre-launch was done with strong purpose and methodology. The goal was to build an incredible amount of energy leading up to the "Thrilling Thursday" when Amazon would officially release the book. By building up that pent up demand, and then suddenly releasing it on a single day, we were able to attain "Best Seller" status on multiple Amazon lists. Absolutely amazing. I was thrilled to be a part of this project, I learned a lot and had a great time doing it! |
