Google's Done It Again! |
|
Breaking news… Google hates numbers. It turns out the 1, 2, 3, 4 rating system was just a short pit stop to the of-course-not-final method of displaying review information by consumers. Now Google+ Local (formerly known as Google Places, formerly a 5-star rating system) displays ratings as Poor-Fair, Good, Very Good, and Excellent. Thank you Google, it was clearly very confusing with the numbered or star approach! Take a look at the new Google+ Local about details …
And here is the review submission form…
Is this a more “business friendly” approach? Clearly they are trying to denote a positive aura even for the poor reviews – “Poor-Fair” just doesn’t seem as bad as a 1 @ 4 overall. What do you think? Comments below…
Does this help or hurt your Reputation Management efforts? Does this put Google+ Local in a better light than the likes of Yelp to gain ad dollars through less negative connotations about local businesses? PRIME-Response can help! Fill out a contact us form above. |
