Evaluating Your Digital Vendor: Customer Targeting

As the year, and potentially your contract, comes to an end you may find yourself reevaluating your current digital marketing vendor. With a large range of services and solutions to choose from, how do you know what to look for, or what questions to ask? Recently our digital expert Jonah Cole sat down for a webinar with Dealer Refresh to come up with 10 questions you should ask (and your vendor should be able to answer) to make sure your digital advertising is in good hands. In this series of blogs, we’ll break down some of those questions, starting with a focus on customer targeting.

Customer targeting is vitally important for any business, especially dealerships. Jonah suggests starting the conversation with the types of data used to target your customers. First party data, or data collected directly from your dealership, is ideal and focuses in on customers you already have. Second and third-party data can also be helpful in getting your dealership and brand in front of potential prospects.

Jonah also makes a point about the increase of automation in digital processes. While automation can make digital advertising a lot easier, having someone on the other end checking processes and working with your team can make the difference between digital success and digital failure.
